About this Role

Are you a passionate and resilient educator ready to make a lasting impact?

We are seeking an exceptional SEMH Assessment Centre Lead Teacher to lead and develop our specialist provision for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced teacher or middle leader to shape an inclusive, nurturing environment where every student is understood, supported, and empowered to succeed.

About the Role

The role involves delivering a curriculum that addresses both Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and core National Curriculum aims. The Lead Teacher will complete focused SEMH screening alongside National Curriculum and SEND assessments and support child-centred learning that reflects the needs and interests of the students.

The Lead Teacher will create a safe, structured and supportive environment through routines and emotional support so that students’ individual needs can be met effectively. The Base is designed to support up to ten Key Stage Three students with identified SEMH needs.

The role includes developing strong partnerships with home schools, families and external agencies to ensure high quality provision and support successful reintegration of students back into mainstream education.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has proven experience working with pupils with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour
  • Understanding of Education, Health and Care Plans and statutory requirements

  • Is resilient, reflective, and committed to inclusive education
  • Thrives in a dynamic, solution-focused environment
