About this Role

Sheringham High School is looking to appoint a dynamic, dedicated and motivated Teacher of Physical Education to join our thriving team. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic professional who is passionate about promoting physical activity and delivering engaging lessons that inspire students to achieve their best.
The successful applicant will be responsible for developing and delivering a broad, inclusive and challenging PE programme that supports the needs of all learners. They will assess and track student achievement, foster a positive and purposeful learning environment, and encourage students to develop both their physical abilities and personal confidence. For the right candidate, there is the opportunity to deliver both GCSE and A-Level Physical Education.
Working collaboratively with colleagues, the postholder will contribute to the continued improvement of teaching and learning across the department, support students’ wider wellbeing and personal development, and play an active part in the school community through extracurricular sport and enrichment opportunities.
The successful candidate will also work across our school as a Cover Supervisor, leading classes during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring students remain focused, engaged and on task with the work provided. You will manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies, support students’ learning, and help maintain a positive learning environment. The role also includes recording attendance, reporting on student progress and behaviour, and liaising with teaching staff as required.
