Are you a proactive, hands-on individual looking for a rewarding role in a vibrant school community?  Moulton School and Science College is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Site Supervisor to join our committed site team.  This is a fantastic opportunity to play a crucial role in ensuring our school environment is safe, secure, well-maintained, and welcoming for our students, staff, and visitors.

About the Role:

Working closely with and under the direction of our Site Manager, you will be instrumental in the day-to-day operations of our school site. Your responsibilities will be varied and will include:

  • Assisting with the security of the premises, including opening/closing procedures, alarm systems, and responding to call-outs as part of a rota.
  • Undertaking a range of minor repairs, maintenance tasks (e.g., basic plumbing, carpentry, decorating), and redecoration projects to ensure our facilities are in excellent condition.
  • Supporting the implementation of health and safety policies, carrying out routine checks (e.g., fire safety, legionella), and reporting any hazards.
  • Assisting with grounds maintenance to keep our external areas tidy and safe.
  • Undertaking porterage duties, including moving furniture and equipment, and setting up for school events, examinations, and assemblies.
  • Liaising with and assisting in the monitoring of contractors on site.
  • Ensuring cleaning standards are maintained and undertaking emergency cleaning duties when required.

What We're Looking For:

  • An individual with proven practical DIY/maintenance skills and a can-do attitude.
  • Good understanding of health and safety requirements in a similar environment.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently using your own initiative.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and resolving site issues.
  • Reliability, trustworthiness, and the ability to handle the physical demands of the role.
  • A willingness to undertake training relevant to the role.
  • Previous experience in a school or similar maintenance role is desirable, but not essential for a candidate with the right skills and enthusiasm.
  • A full UK driving licence may be beneficial.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary.
  • Generous holiday entitlement.
  • Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.
  • Opportunities for professional development and training.
  • A supportive and friendly working environment within our welcoming Moulton school community
