TEACHING ASSISTANT FOR DESIGNATED SPECIALIST PROVISION FOR AUTISM

Grade D Point 3-4 (£24,796 - £25,185) + SEN Allowance (£2,384)

32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

(38 weeks term time + 5 Training days)

£18,721 - £19,015 + £1,799 (actual salary)

 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to join our team in our recently opened DSP. We are looking for suitably qualified and experienced individuals to join our provision.

We are particularly keen to hear from candidates with ASC or special school experience.

You’ll be making a difference!  As an awesome individual, you’ll help to nurture and support our pupils who have a diagnosis of Autism or will be on an ASC pathway. You will contribute to changing their lives.

The ideal candidate will be confident, enthusiastic, have excellent English skills (clear written and spoken English) and good reading, writing and numeracy skills, along with the ability to build good & trusting working relationships with children, teachers, parents and carers.

Core Responsibilities:

  • To work under the direction of the DSP SENDCo and DSP Manager within Designated Specialist Provision.
  • To work under the direction of the classroom teacher when supporting the pupil with special educational needs in the classroom.
  • To support pupils in the department within small groups and on a 1:1 basis, possibly including delivery of literacy intervention courses to small groups.
  • To supervise pupils and carry out day-to-day tasks within the inclusion department.
  • To support the implementation of department policies and initiatives.
