We are continually developing our SEND provision and are delighted to have the opportunity to increase our support around Literacy & Emotional Literacy (ELSA). These are new and exciting opportunity which will support the students to achieve their potential with various interventions and support offered by successful candidates. The aim of the roles will be to equip the students with knowledge, strategies, confidence and independence to be successful in their learning in school.
You will be a HLTA in either Literacy or ELSA, running interventions, creating learning resources, developing strategies, supporting with students learning and helping them be more successful in school. The students who will be working with will have a variety of special educational needs including social, emotional and mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities:
To lead the provision in close liaison with the SENDCo
To act as a mentor for the students, creating positive relationships in order to maximise their well-being and progress
To create and over-see bespoke resources & strategies for the students
To support the students with their curriculum learning by running interventions - this may include pre and post teaching as well as more specific intervention
To foster links with the wider school and cement strong relationships with the students & others within school.
You will need:
HLTA qualification or significant experience of working within this role
Experience of working with a range of students with SEND
Experience of the National Curriculum for Key Stage Three and Four
Resilience
Ability and confidence to act with autonomy
Empathetic with the ability to make strong, positive relationships
Patience
Commitment and passion to support the students to achieve their best.
Flexible
Confident communicator
Good IT skills (support will be offered where needed)
