Position Overview:  
We are seeking an inspirational Teacher of Design and Technology, with deep subject knowledge, who values a mastery approach to teaching. We have a subject team, who are involved in shared planning for lessons and working together to support each other. 
We welcome a new teacher to the team who will bring their own ideas as well. You will have the agency to make the changes you want to drive Technology teaching forward.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning and Delivering High-Quality Lessons
  • Designing engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all learners, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
  • Ensuring lessons align with the National Curriculum and school policies while incorporating appropriate use of technology and up-to-date teaching methods.
Assessing and Tracking Progress
  • Using formative and summative assessments to evaluate students' progress and inform future teaching.
  • Recording and reporting on attainment and progress data to stakeholders, including students, parents, and school leadership.
Promoting a Positive Learning Environment
  • Establishing clear behaviour expectations and maintaining a disruption free classroom
  • Creating an inclusive, respectful, and supportive environment where all students feel valued and can thrive.
Supporting Student Well-Being
  • Recognising and addressing the mental health and emotional needs of students, including safeguarding responsibilities.
  • Collaborating with pastoral staff and external agencies as necessary to support student welfare.
Engaging in Professional Development
  • Participating in ongoing training to enhance subject knowledge, pedagogy, and classroom management skills.
  • Reflecting on and improving personal teaching practices through collaboration, feedback, and staying updated on educational policy changes. classrooms. 
Qualifications: 
  • A technology degree or in a related field. 
  • Strong knowledge of current DT national curriculum, standards and best practices
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders. 
  • Passion for Technology education and a commitment to inspiring students in the field.
