Position Overview:
We are seeking an inspirational Teacher of English,
with deep subject knowledge.
The English Department at Manor School is a dynamic and
dedicated team committed to inspiring curiosity and a love for English in every
student.
Our department prides itself on providing high-quality and
challenging education, that balances academic challenge with the support needed
for students to succeed. We are currently undertaking a curriculum review to
ensure our lessons remain innovative, challenging, and support our students to
make progress and develop a love of English. Our aim is to offer a curriculum
that stretches the brightest minds while nurturing those who require additional
support, critical thinking, and enthusiasm for English.

Key Responsibilities:
Planning and Delivering High-Quality Lessons
- Designing
engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all learners,
including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
- Ensuring
lessons align with the National Curriculum and school policies while
incorporating appropriate use of technology and up-to-date teaching
methods.
Assessing and Tracking Progress
- Using
formative and summative assessments to evaluate students' progress and
inform future teaching.
- Recording
and reporting on attainment and progress data to stakeholders, including
students, parents, and school leadership.
Promoting a Positive Learning Environment
- Establishing
clear behaviour expectations and maintaining classroom discipline.
- Creating
an inclusive, respectful, and supportive environment where all students
feel valued and can thrive.
Supporting Student Well-Being
- Recognising
and addressing the mental health and emotional needs of students,
including safeguarding responsibilities.
- Collaborating
with pastoral staff and external agencies as necessary to support student
welfare.
Engaging in Professional Development
- Participating
in ongoing training to enhance subject knowledge, and classroom management
skills.
- Reflecting
on and improving personal teaching practices through collaboration,
feedback, and staying updated on educational policy changes.

Qualifications:
- Degree
in English education or a related field.
- Strong
knowledge of current English curriculum standards and best practices.
- Exceptional
interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated
ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other
stakeholders.
- Passion
for English education and a commitment to inspiring students in the
field.
