We are seeking to appoint a passionate and inspiring faculty Learning and Progress Assistant to work within a successful, forward thinking Maths team. The role will involve working with a range of students including those with SEND or who may have arrived at secondary school with lower than expected levels of learning.
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic individual who shares our ethos of supporting all learners to achieve their full potential and raises aspiration. A high level of competency within Maths is essential and higher levels of qualifications within the realms of Maths are desirable.
The role will involve working with a range of different students within the Maths faculty, including SEND students with varying degrees of learning, behavioural, communication, social, sensory or physical difficulties. The role will specifically involve:
In class intervention within Maths lessons.
Supporting our most vulnerable learners to attain basic numeracy skills through additional interventions.
Small group teaching and intervention to students who may be withdrawn from their regular Maths lessons.
Working in partnership with class teachers to support learning in line with the national curriculum, codes of practice and school policies and procedures.
Adapting teaching resources to ensure that they are accessible for SEND learners or those working at a level below what would be expected.
To work within the Inclusion and Intervention Faculty as part of a larger team in ‘Closing the Gap’.
