About this Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Post-16 Learning Mentor to join our inclusion and sixth form teams. This rewarding role combines learning support and mentoring, helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

You will provide tailored academic, pastoral and emotional support to students, including those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), through one-to-one and small group interventions. Working closely with teaching staff, the SEND team, parents/carers and external agencies, you will play a key role in promoting student progress, wellbeing, attendance and engagement.

As a mentor, you will act as a positive role model, listener and motivator, supporting students with study skills, revision strategies and post-16/18 progression planning. You will monitor and evaluate student progress, adapting support strategies to meet individual needs and ensure impactful outcomes.

The successful candidate will be proactive, organised and empathetic, with a genuine commitment to inclusive education. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference, supporting young people to develop independence, confidence and the skills they need for further education or employment.

Spencer Academies Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all our children and young people. Therefore, we expect everyone to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to satisfactory pre- employment checks, including a satisfactory Enhanced criminal records with Barred List Check through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and the completion of Level 2 Safeguarding training. It is an offence to apply for the role if an applicant is barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children (where the role involves this type of regulated activity).

The Trust and its member academies are committed to promoting equality and diversity in both employment and education provision. We aim to ensure that students, parents, governors, employees, contractors, partners, clients and other stakeholders within the Trust community are treated fairly, and with dignity and respect regardless of Protected Characteristics.

Spencer Academies Trust is a Disability Confident Committed Employer
