Pennine Way Junior Academy is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Key Stage 2 Class Teacher to join our team on a full‑time, fixed‑term maternity cover contract. This role plays a vital part in delivering high‑quality teaching and learning, ensuring pupils make strong progress academically, socially and emotionally.
You will be responsible for planning and delivering a broad, balanced and inclusive curriculum, aligned with the National Curriculum, and tailored to meet the diverse needs of all learners. Working closely with colleagues, teaching assistants, families and external professionals, you will help create a positive, supportive learning environment where every child is encouraged to fulfil their potential.
Safeguarding sits at the heart of this role. The successful candidate will be fully committed to promoting the welfare of children and upholding the school’s safeguarding policies and statutory guidance, while also contributing positively to the wider life, ethos and vision of the school and the Embark Federation.
This position would suit a reflective and motivated teacher who sets high expectations, values teamwork, and is committed to continual professional development while maintaining high standards of professionalism at all times.
Due to this post having access to children, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an application from obtaining this post, as all cases are judged individually according to the nature of the role and the information provided.
If you do wish to apply for this position, please read the attached job description and person specification, and complete the application form.
