Your new school
Hasmonean Multi-Academy Trust is seeking a dedicated and experienced Designated Safeguarding Lead to join its Boys’ School in a key non-teaching safeguarding role. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident safeguarding professional to play a central part in promoting the welfare, safety and wellbeing of students, while supporting staff to respond effectively to child protection concerns.
Your new role
As Designated Safeguarding Lead, you will take responsibility for safeguarding and child protection matters arising within the school, acting as a key source of support, advice and expertise for staff. You will work closely with pastoral leaders, SEND staff, senior leaders and external agencies to ensure safeguarding procedures are clear, effective and consistently followed.
The role will involve managing referrals, maintaining accurate safeguarding records, supporting casework meetings, liaising with children’s social care, LADO, police and other relevant agencies, and helping to ensure that safeguarding policies and training remain up to date. You will also contribute to raising awareness of safeguarding across the school community, including statutory training, termly updates and the ongoing review of child protection procedures.
The successful candidate will
- have excellent knowledge of safeguarding guidance and procedures
- be organised and able to handle confidential information sensitively
- be able to demonstrate an understanding, awareness and empathy for the needs of the students within school and how these could be met
