Rydon Primary School is seeking to appoint two ambitious and driven Assistant Headteachers (L4–L8) to join our senior leadership team at an exciting time in our school’s development.

We are seeking two exceptional leaders:

Post 1: Assistant Headteacher – Inclusion (SENCO & DSL)

4 days per week – Non-teaching

This role will lead and strategically oversee the school’s inclusion provision, including:

  • Serving as the school’s SENCO
  • Acting as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
  • Driving inclusive practice across the school
  • Ensuring high-quality provision and outcomes for pupils with SEND and vulnerable groups
  • Leading pastoral systems and safeguarding practice
  • Supporting staff to deliver adaptive, inclusive teaching

This is a non-teaching leadership role, allowing dedicated time to strategically lead inclusion and safeguarding across the school.


Post 2: Assistant Headteacher – Teaching & Learning (Core Subject Leadership)

Full-time position

This role will:

  • Have a teaching commitment (days to be confirmed)
  • Lead and oversee a core subject area
  • Take on additional whole-school leadership responsibilities
  • Drive high standards of teaching, learning and curriculum development
  • Support and develop staff through coaching and professional development

We are looking for a leader who is passionate about curriculum excellence and raising achievement, with the ability to inspire both pupils and colleagues.
