Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality teaching across the Science curriculum at Key Stages 3 and 4 (and Key Stage 5 if applicable)
  • Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that inspire and challenge students of all abilities
  • Assess, monitor and track student progress, providing targeted feedback to support improvement
  • Contribute to the development of an ambitious and knowledge-rich Science curriculum
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports excellent behaviour for learning
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and support departmental improvement
  • Participate in wider school life, including enrichment, trips, and extracurricular activities
  • Uphold the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students

  • A qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent) with a strong subject knowledge in Science
  • The ability to teach engaging and effective lessons that secure strong student outcomes
  • A commitment to high expectations and raising attainment for all students
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment
  • A reflective practitioner who is committed to continuous professional development
  • A collaborative team player who contributes positively to department and whole-school priorities
