The Role

We are seeking to appoint a Head of Year to join our successful and thriving pastoral team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a year group and play a pivotal role in supporting student progress, managing welfare, and promoting positive behaviour.

You will be responsible for developing the role and contribution of pastoral care within the academy, ensuring that every student feels supported and able to succeed.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a year group, ensuring high standards of behaviour, attendance, and achievement.
  • Support student welfare and wellbeing, acting as a key point of contact for families.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff to remove barriers to learning.
  • Monitor and track student progress, implementing interventions where necessary.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive culture across the year group.

What We’re Looking For

  • A qualified teacher with experience of leading or supporting pastoral care.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Passion for making a real difference to young people’s lives.
