English as an Additional Language (EAL) Coordinator at The Becket School

Qualified Teachers are invited to apply to work as English as an Additional Language (EAL) Coordinator. In this role, you will be vital in supporting our students on their journey to success. You will lead and coordinate the school's provision for pupils with EAL, ensuring students are accurately identified, assessed and supported to access an ambitious curriculum.

This role is 3 hours per week, main pay scale, term-time only and temporary up to 12 months in the first instance.

As an EAL Coordinator, you will:

• Lead and coordinate the school's provision for pupils with English as an Additional Language (EAL), ensuring that students are accurately identified, assessed and supported to access an ambitious curriculum.
• Develop a consistent, evidence-informed approach to EAL provision through high-quality assessment, individual language profiling, targeted support planning and effective classroom practice.
• Lead the implementation of FlashAcademy and use assessment information to improve outcomes for EAL learners.
• Complete initial language assessments for all newly arrived EAL students.
• Assess students' proficiency across speaking, listening, reading and writing.
• Use assessment information to identify barriers to learning and appropriate support strategies.
• Maintain accurate records of all EAL students.
