We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and committed Drama teacher to join our small but thriving department. Drama is taught once per week at KS3, with strong uptake as an option subject in Year 9, and continues through to GCSE and A-Level following the Eduqas specification.
As a department, we are passionate about Drama as both a rigorous academic subject and a powerful tool for developing wider life skills. We believe in fostering creativity, confidence, collaboration and critical thinking, ensuring students not only achieve academically but also grow as expressive, reflective and resilient individuals.
Our department prides itself on a well-developed enrichment programme, including a popular Drama Club, two productions each year, and regular theatre visits and workshops. We have established links with leading theatres such as the Kiln and the Young Vic, alongside trips to universities including UWL and the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, providing students with valuable cultural and academic experiences beyond the classroom. Since last year, we have also created and hosted the Barnet Youth Theatre Festival, bringing together a range of schools for an evening of performance and celebration.
We are looking for a subject specialist with a genuine passion for Drama and a wealth of creative ideas. The successful candidate will have the ability to deliver engaging and high-quality lessons across KS3 and KS4, maintain high expectations of all students, and demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement in their teaching practice.
This role also requires a willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school, particularly through enrichment and extracurricular activities. You will be joining a supportive team within a small department, benefiting from excellent facilities including two dedicated drama studios and a newly refurbished school hall, alongside strong and supportive senior leadership.
