Shelley College is seeking to appoint a dedicated and highly effective Director of Science to lead our Science Faculty. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and passionate professional to play a key role in driving forward standards of teaching, learning and achievement.
The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership across the Science Faculty, working closely with Heads of Department, senior leaders and colleagues to secure consistently high-quality teaching and outcomes for all students. You will be responsible for developing and implementing a broad, balanced and inclusive curriculum, monitoring standards, and supporting the professional development of staff.
This role will also contribute to whole-school improvement priorities, ensuring that students are supported to achieve their full potential within a safe, inclusive and aspirational environment.

Overall Purpose of the role:
As Director of Science you will be required to meet the general requirements of this post, as specified in the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document. In addition, you will be required to fulfil any reasonable expectations from the Senior Leadership Team. The post will require you to work in partnership with the Arts teaching staff, TLR holders, Senior Leadership Team and governors to ensure the continuous improvement of the Expressive Arts Faculty.

This post requires the post holder to work in settings with children and young adults. People who may have contact with younger children (i.e. primary school age) are also required to complete a declaration about family or other members of their household.
