We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of Science to join our dedicated team at Shelley College on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for an inspiring classroom practitioner who is passionate about delivering high‑quality science teaching and helping students achieve their full potential.
In this role, you will play an important part in delivering a broad, balanced and engaging Science curriculum that supports students of all abilities. You will work closely with colleagues in the science department, the Senior Leadership Team and wider staff to support the continuous improvement of teaching, learning and student outcomes across the school.
The role involves planning and delivering high‑quality lessons, monitoring and supporting the progress of students, and contributing to a positive and purposeful learning environment. You will also take on the responsibilities of a form tutor, helping to support students’ personal development, wellbeing and academic progress. As with all teaching roles at Shelley College, you will play a part in safeguarding students and maintaining a safe, nurturing and supportive school environment.

As a Teacher of Science, you will be required to meet the general requirements of this post. In addition, you will be required to fulfil any reasonable expectations from the Headteacher.
The post will require you to work in partnership with the Headteacher, Senior Leadership Team, governors and staff to ensure the continuous improvement of the Academy.
Safeguarding Requirement:
This post requires the post holder to work in settings with children and young adults. Any employment offer is therefore subject to the results of an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). People who may have contact with younger children (i.e. primary school age) are also required to complete a declaration about family or other members of their household.
