About this Role

Scale H6 (Pro-Rata)

Contracted Hours: 32.5 hours a week, term time plus one week (to include September INSET day/s)

Start date: May 2026

Hitchin Girls’ School is a high performing school, graded Outstanding by Ofsted, where we provide an exceptional experience for all of our students. We have high level provision for teaching and learning and provide the greatest level of care and support for all students and our staff. Situated in the picturesque and historic market town of Hitchin, it is conveniently located in the beautiful countryside on just 25 minutes from London by train and with easy access to motorways and airports.

We are seeking a talented and passionate individual to join our team as a Curriculum Officer from May 2026. This is a pivotal role designed to maintain the whole school curriculum and options processes, working in close conjunction with the School Timetabler. You will be responsible for managing key aspects of the school’s management information system (Arbor) and will play a key part in the administration of our school trips and extra-curricular programme.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong autonomy, excellent organisational skills, and a high level of attention to detail to meet strict deadlines. While experience with school timetabling and MIS (specifically Arbor) is an advantage, we offer a thorough training programme.

We can offer you:

  • a secure, supportive environment with a full induction programme for all new staff

  • outstanding professional development and future career opportunities

  • a positive working environment within an extremely well-resourced school

  • the chance to work with exceptionally committed colleagues who have high expectations of students

  • an active focus on staff well-being, supporting staff throughout the year with various treats/initiatives

  • access to the school’s children of staff admission rule

  • a cycle to work scheme

If you are a flexible team player with a sense of humour and a willingness to contribute to the broader life of the school, we would love to hear from you.

How to Apply:

Please complete your application through My New Term. The closing date for applications is 9am on Friday 10th April 2026. We reserve the right to make appointments before the closing date, so early applications are encouraged.
