The Science Department is a key curriculum area within the Academy, with a strong focus on high‑quality teaching, consistency of practice, and excellent outcomes for all students.

The Role:
The successful candidate will carry out the professional duties of a Science teacher in accordance with the Academy’s policies and under the direction of the line manager. You will teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4 and may also teach up to KS3 in another subject. Teaching to GCSE level in Science or another subject is required.

The successful candidate will:

• ·         Teach Science at KS3 and KS4, including GCSE level (and up to KS3 in another subject where required).
• ·         Deliver high‑quality lessons aligned with the Academy’s Features of Great Teaching.
• ·         Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement, and achievement in line with ‘The CHA Way’.
• ·         Use assessment effectively to monitor student progress and inform planning.
• ·         Contribute to curriculum development and share best practice within the Science team.
• ·         Support enrichment activities and wider engagement in Science.
• ·         Act as a form tutor, delivering pastoral and Life Skills (PSHE) provision.
• ·         Promote student wellbeing, safeguarding, and positive relationships with parents.
• ·         Take part in Academy events and ongoing professional development.

Requirements:

• ·         Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent or willingness to gain QTS
• ·         A degree in one of the following Sciences; Biology, Chemistry or Physics 
• ·         Experience teaching Science at the secondary level.
• ·         Strong communication and organisational skills.
• ·         A commitment to continuous professional development.
