Science at Chiltern Hills Academy is located within dedicated labs and a large prep room. Two Science Technicians are in post to support the department in a range of activities that help bring the science curriculum to life. Students follow a 2-year Key Stage 3 and study Science 7 hours per fortnight. As students move into Key Stage 4, they follow the Combined Science pathway on 9 hours per fortnight over 2 years. We also offer Triple Science alongside the Combined Science pathway. Outside of the classroom we have developed a range of STEM activities including Interact Club.
The Role:
Chiltern Hills Academy is seeking to appoint an inspirational, highly
effective, and committed Lead Practitioner of Science to join our forward‑thinking
and ambitious team. This is a key strategic role within the academy, offering
an exciting opportunity for an exceptional practitioner to drive improvement
within the Science Department while contributing to whole‑school priorities
around the Quality of Education.
The role will be working closely with the Science Curriculum Lead, the successful candidate will play a central role in developing and sustaining high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement across all key stages. You will be an outstanding classroom practitioner, passionate about Science education, with the credibility and expertise to support, mentor, and inspire colleagues.
