About this Role

About Us: Chiltern Hills Academy is a vibrant and dynamic secondary school committed to providing an excellent education and fostering creativity among our students. We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Art Technician to join our Art Department.

Role Overview: As an Art Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the Art Department by preparing materials and equipment for classes, assisting students and teachers, managing art supplies, and ensuring a safe and organized environment for creative activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Material Preparation: Ensure all necessary materials and equipment, such as paints, paper, and tools, are ready for class use.
  • Student Support: Assist students with their projects and provide guidance as directed by the Head of Department.
  • Project Storage: Organise and store students’ artwork, both in-progress and completed.
  • Display Management: Set up and maintain displays of students’ work within the art rooms and around the school.
  • Reprographic Tasks: Handle tasks like binding, scanning, copying, printing, and formatting documents.
  • Stock Management: Conduct regular stock checks and order supplies as needed.
  • Safety Checks: Perform routine safety checks on equipment to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Photographic Support: Mix photographic chemicals and utilize photography skills, including Photoshop, to support the department.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant qualifications in art or a related field would be beneficial.
  • Experience in a similar role within an educational setting is preferred.
  • Proficiency in photography and Photoshop.
