About the role
An exciting
opportunity has arisen to join our newly established Enhanced Resource
Provision, The Ark. We are seeking to appoint a skilled and experienced
Learning Support Assistant to work within this specialist provision for
students whose primary need is Cognition and Learning. Opened in January 2026,
The Ark has been purposefully redesigned to meet the needs of our learners,
offering a calm, supportive and nurturing environment.
The successful
candidate will work closely with students with special educational needs and
disabilities to access a bespoke curriculum and deliver targeted interventions
aligned with EHCP outcomes, under the guidance of the ERP Lead teacher and
SENDCo.
We are looking for
someone who has:

Knowledge of inclusion / SEND
with particular expertise in language and communication
·
A good understanding of the
needs and characteristics of students across the age range 11-19
·
Recent experience of working
with young people either in a school setting, as a parent, or involvement in
voluntary work such as a youth group, cubs, brownie or similar organisation
·
Administrative skills including
experience of using a range of computer packages, navigating software and
operating Microsoft Office
·
The skills to analyse and
report on data regarding student progress
·
The ability to work in a team,
supporting each to ensure the best outcome for the students.
·
Excellent communication skills
including the confidence to work with small groups of students in a teaching
environment
· To facilitate purposeful inclusion in mainstream lessons as directed by the ERP Lead Teacher and SENDCo.
All staff are
expected to know what to do if they have concerns about a child, take on the
responsibility for providing a safe environment and promoting children’s
welfare, undertake regular safeguarding and child protection training and,
familiarise themselves with KCSIE part 1 and local
policies and procedures as directed by the trust/academy.
