At John Colet School (Ofsted rated ‘Good’), we aren’t just looking for a Science teacher; we are looking for an ambitious, enthusiastic educator to join a department where excellent facilities support your teaching, students are respectful, and staff wellbeing is at the very heart of our culture.
You will be joining a forward-thinking, innovative team of high-quality teachers and technicians who share a genuine passion for the subject and pride themselves on mutual support and teamwork.
Facilities: Work in one of our 9 modern, well-equipped laboratories, including two new labs and a dedicated Physics classroom.
Resources: Our priority is ensuring lessons are engaging, stimulating, relevant and above all promote a genuine interest in Science; every student has their own device and access to a free online textbook
Success: Our department delivers excellent progress across all three disciplines at GCSE, with good outcomes in the four A-level subjects currently on offer.
We pride ourselves on being a caring school where we pursue excellence, celebrate success and develop students to become active members of our school and wider community. We are constantly striving to improve. Our staff enjoy:
Work-Life Balance: Supported by an approachable SLT and a collaborative team ethos.
Professional Growth: Access to coaching, CPD workshops, and induction programmes that staff say truly "make them better teachers."
Wellbeing & Perks: On-site newly opened gym, Pilates and strength & conditioning classes, crafts and social activities.
Environment: A lovely setting in the Chiltern Hills with plentiful, free staff parking.
Family Benefits: Preferential places for children of staff (subject to qualifying period).
Whether you are an ECT looking for a supportive start to your career or an experienced teacher seeking a fresh challenge, we want to hear from you.
The ability to teach KS3 and KS4 is essential; KS5 experience or potential is a plus.
A commitment to excellence for your students, your colleagues, yourself and John Colet School.
A Biology specialism is desirable, but a passion for general Science is a must.
"The behaviour and relationships are very positive... The school has a family feel and its vision of ‘every student thriving’ underpins all its work." — Ofsted, 2024
