We are
seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher to lead the teaching and learning
within the Alternative Provision (AP) Unit of our secondary school. The
successful candidate will work closely with subject leaders and the wider
school team to plan, adapt, and deliver a tailored curriculum in English,
Mathematics, and Science at Key Stage 3 (KS3) level, with a focus on addressing
gaps and misconceptions to support progression into Key Stage 4 (KS4). They
will uphold high standards in teaching and learning, as well as behaviour
management, and will work with students who may have a range of learning and
behavioural concerns. They will be line managed by the Deputy Headteacher
(Behaviour and Pastoral) and will work collaboratively with other members of the
pastoral team, such as the SENDCO, Home-School Link Worker, Safeguarding Team, Mental
Health Lead, Heads of Years and Pastoral Managers, and the Attendance Officer.
Additionally, they will be part of the panel assessing student applications for
joining the alternative provision and will support the transition back into
mainstream education when students are ready to move. The teacher will work in
partnership with parents throughout the students' time in the alternative
provision to keep them informed and involved in their child’s progress and
experiences. There will also be a need to monitor attendance and work with
parents, the school, and external agencies to improve student attendance.
