We are seeking a committed, compassionate and highly organised Deputy SENCO to join our dedicated inclusion team. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious professional who is passionate about supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to achieve their full potential.
The Westwood Academy operates
under the umbrella of the Kenilworth Multi-Academy Trust, a progressive and
ambitious trust. We provide a stimulating learning atmosphere coupled with an
exemplary shared Continuous Professional Development (CPD) program. We take

The Role:
Working closely with the SENCO and senior
leadership team, the successful candidate will help lead and coordinate
high-quality SEND provision across the school. You will play a key role in
ensuring pupils receive effective support, staff are well guided, and families
feel valued and included.
The successful
candidate would ideally have some experience of working in a secondary school
or working in youth services, however, a commitment to learn and a willingness
to engage positively with young people is essential.
We are looking for someone who:
· Has experience
working with children or young people with SEND
· Demonstrates
excellent communication and organisational skills
· Is knowledgeable
about SEND legislation and inclusive practice
· Builds positive
relationships with pupils, staff and families
· Is proactive,
resilient and committed to improving outcomes for children
· Holds relevant
qualifications or training in SEND (desirable)
Key areas of the role will include:
· Support the SENCO
in leading and managing SEND provision across the school
· Assist with
identifying, assessing and monitoring pupils with SEND
· Work
collaboratively with teachers, support staff, parents and external agencies
· Help develop and
review Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
· Promote inclusive
teaching practices and positive outcomes for all learners
· Maintain accurate
SEND records and contribute to statutory processes
· Support staff
training and the implementation of intervention programmes
· Support with access arrangements.
