About this Role

Work where it matters most, achieve what matters more.

Be part of a team where passion meets purpose, as we work together where the challenge is greatest to change the lives and build the futures of children and young people.

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Design & Technology Technician to support the delivery of a high-quality, practical curriculum. This role involves preparing, maintaining and managing a range of workshop machinery and equipment across specialist areas such as wood, metal and/or plastics.

You will play a key part in ensuring that resources are ready for lessons, supporting teaching staff and students during practical activities and maintaining a safe, organised, and fully compliant workshop environment.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for routine maintenance of machinery, stock control and contributing to the ongoing development of the department’s facilities.

For this role, you require strong practical skills and experience of working with workshop machinery preferably gained within an industry setting. You will have a solid understanding of health and safety requirements in a workshop environment and be confident supporting others in the safe use of equipment.

Organisation, attention to detail and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team are essential. You will be approachable, adaptable and enthusiastic about supporting young people in developing their design and technology skills. Previous experience in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.
