About this Role

TEACHER OF DRAMA WITH ENGLISH

REQUIRED September 2026

MPS-UPS - £32,916 - £51,047

We are looking to appoint a Teacher of Drama with English to join our outstanding team of teachers. This post would suit either an experienced or Early Career Teacher (ECT).

The ethos of the team is extremely supportive and positive, with a proven track record of outstanding outcomes.

We can offer opportunities to teach GCSE Drama and A- level Drama and Theatre. All students have drama once per fortnight in year 9, which makes drama as a very popular option for GCSE and A Level. Our whole school production takes places in December and all years welcome to participate.

We can offer opportunities to teach KS3/4 English, GCSE English and A- level English Language, English Combined, English Literature. The ethos of our subject team is extremely supportive and positive, with a proven track record of outstanding outcomes.

The successful candidate will need to be reflective, innovative and be willing to continually develop their practice to meet the demands of the specification but more importantly be able to alter their lessons to the needs of our students year on year. You will be joining a highly effective team who work collectively to move student progress forward each year, both within the science team and the wider school.

Our recent OFSTED visit highlighted “Students at Vandyke are proud and articulate ambassadors for their school. They enjoy learning and achieve well. They thrive as a result of the school’s ambition for all students to become ‘world ready citizens’”

“Students are confident, courteous and aspirational. They behave well and move around the school calmly. They respect themselves and others”.

OFSTED January 2024.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people. References and an online search will be carried out for all shortlisted candidates. An enhanced DBS check is required for all successful applicants.

We welcome interested candidates to come and visit prior to application. Visits to the school can be arranged by contacting Jo Sessions.
