Landau Forte Academy Tamworth Sixth & QEMS is a popular oversubscribed academy in Tamworth with a very large and expanding Sixth Form. The academy was judged as GOOD by Ofsted in September 2022. Following an increase in our numbers in Yr7 and Post 16 students, an exciting opportunity has arisen within the Academy. SEND at Landau Forte Academy QEMS and Sixth Form:
All children, regardless of circumstance or need, must be enabled to achieve
to the best of their ability.
The SEND Team of teachers and LSA support staff, through information,
training and resources, support a Quality First standard of teaching and
learning, which enables high quality, inclusive teaching for all students, regardless
of need. This includes supporting faculties in their differentiated learning,
personalised learning, ongoing formative assessments and strategies to support
those students with SEN.

· Hours: 40.75 per week (part time/flexible working requests will be considered)

Job description
Supporting Students by:
· Providing appropriate professional classroom support to enable progress for students.
· Providing some 1:1 or small group intervention work as needed.
· Helping support students during non- contact time.
· Keeping updated impact and intervention records.
· Contributing to parent/agency meetings if required.
· Contributing to SEND Team meetings.
· Taking part in training/CPD.
· Providing intimate care and personal manual handling where required.
In addition, responsibilities may be delegated in line with experience, expertise and designated role within the Academy.

Landau Forte Academy QEMS and Tamworth Sixth Form
The local area
Landau Forte Academy QEMS joined the Landau Forte Charitable Trust in September 2011 and delivers education to 11-16 year olds. Landau Forte Academy Sixth Form is a purpose-built establishment providing Level 3 courses, both Advanced Level and BTEC, for the whole of Tamworth and beyond. The academies are located on a shared campus, but both operate from their own facilities, with Landau Forte Academy Sixth Form having new bespoke, accommodation, which opened in September 2011, with a new Sports Hall that opened in 2013.
Tamworth is a historic town surrounded by beautiful countryside, located a short distance from Birmingham. The Academy is located close to the centre of Tamworth, with superb transport links.
Tamworth boasts a range of historical sites and leisure attractions, including: Tamworth Castle; the Tamworth Snow Dome and Drayton Manor Amusement Park. Within a 20 minute drive from the town, you can find yourself in the beautiful, open Staffordshire countryside or Birmingham‘s bustling city centre.
