Teacher of History
0.8 FTE, maternity cover, MPS/UPS
Do you want to work
in a school where the behaviour and attitudes of students is outstanding, a
school which is driven by strong values, a caring ethos and a commitment to
educational excellence, and where each and every student knows the gift of life
in all its fullness? Furthermore, a school where extra-curricular success is
amongst the highest in the country and student outcomes are well above national
average.
St Aidan’s Church of England High School is
looking to appoint an enthusiastic, passionate, and committed Teacher of
History to join its high-performing Humanities faculty on a maternity cover
basis, starting in November 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for an
inspiring classroom practitioner to teach History across Key Stages 3 and 4
within a thriving and popular faculty recognised for its strong outcomes and
commitment to excellence. The ability to teach other subjects within the
Humanities faculty would be advantageous.
You will demonstrate an innovative approach
to teaching and curriculum development, a strong commitment to raising
achievement, and a dedication to promoting high expectations for all students.
You will be a confident communicator, a positive team player, and someone who
actively contributes to both departmental and whole-school culture.
You will be joining a highly supportive and
collaborative Humanities faculty and will benefit from a rich programme of
professional development tailored to your career stage. Opportunities include
dedicated ECT support where appropriate, in-school training, external middle
leadership pathways, online learning platforms, Trust-wide development through
the Yorkshire Causeway Schools Trust, and access to the Leeds for Learning
partnership. You will have the opportunity to teach motivated students in a
school that invests in its staff and celebrates both academic excellence and
personal growth.
Completed
applications should be submitted via My New Term by 9am on Thursday, 25th June 2026. A Job
Description and Person Specification detailing the requirements of the role are
also available to download for your reference.
Interviews
will take place on Wednesday, 1st July 2026
