About this Role

Join Manor High School and help shape excellent people and excellent results.

Are you passionate about practical support and working with young people? You will be expected to work in either our Food Preparation and Nutrition space, or our Design and Art classrooms.  Or both if your skills allow! This is a chance to join a consistently high-performing school at the edge of Leicester, contribute to student progress and wellbeing, and be part of a supportive, ambitious staff team.

About Manor High School

Our vision is simple: Excellent People, Excellent Results. Our core values — Excellence, Inspiration, Resilience and Respect — shape everything we do.

About the role
As Design Technology/Food Technician you will play a central role in the day-to-day running of our Design Technology classrooms and workshop. Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and clearing practical lessons, including setting up tools, equipment and materials.

  • Providing hands-on support to students during practical lessons to promote safe, effective learning.

  • Maintaining a safe, hygienic and well-organised working environment and carrying out cleaning and care of departmental items.

  • Organising maintenance and repairs for equipment and completing the annual equipment inventory.

  • Ordering materials, equipment and supplies, and supporting the departmental filing and resource organisation.

  • Using basic IT skills (e.g. downloading photos from digital cameras) to support curriculum practice.

  • Assisting with tasks across the Art, Design & Technology department as required.

  • Adhere to all health and safety and food hygiene standards.

We reserve the right to interview early for the right candidate.  Please submit your application as soon as possible.
