Thank you for your interest in joining Park High School.
Park High is a school of character and opportunity, known for its caring, harmonious ethos and high aspirations for every student. We are proud to provide an environment in which young people can flourish both academically and personally, supported by high standards, excellent pastoral care and a strong sense of community.
Due to an increased Year 7 intake from September 2026, we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed teacher to join our successful Philosophy and Ethics department. This is an exciting opportunity for either an Early Career Teacher (ECT) or a more experienced teacher looking to broaden their experience within a high-performing and supportive school. We welcome applications from candidates seeking either full-time or part-time work.
The successful candidate will join a forward-thinking, close-knit team in a wonderfully diverse and multicultural school community. Our Philosophy and Ethics curriculum encourages students to explore religion, philosophy and ethical issues through enquiry-based learning, critical thinking and respectful discussion. Students study the six major world religions at Key Stages 3 and 4, developing their understanding of religion and world views through both chronological and comparative approaches.
At GCSE, we follow the Eduqas Route A specification, covering philosophical and ethical issues alongside Christian and Sikh beliefs, teachings and practices. At A Level, students follow the Eduqas specification and engage with a broad range of philosophical and ethical thinkers, including Aristotle, Augustine, Thomas Aquinas, David Hume, Jeremy Bentham and Joseph Fletcher, as well as Buddhist beliefs, teachings and practices.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to teach a diverse, ambitious curriculum that reflects and celebrates the richness of our school community. We are looking for someone who can inspire students to think deeply, challenge assumptions and develop their own informed perspectives, while fostering curiosity, empathy and academic confidence.
We can offer:
If you are passionate about teaching Philosophy and Ethics, committed to high standards, and keen to make a meaningful contribution to a thriving school community, we would be delighted to hear from you.
