Introduction

We are looking for an enthusiastic teacher who wants to join a thriving department.

Park High is an 11-18 mixed multi-ethnic comprehensive school of almost 1500 students, situated in the London Borough of Harrow. There are very high achievement levels and excellent facilities.  Ofsted (2024) judged the school good in all areas.

We can offer:

  • An exciting learning environment where challenging, innovative and engaging learning is at the core of all we do.

  • An award-winning vibrant school which continues to achieve extremely high standards, both in Harrow and beyond.

  • A genuine and active pursuit of well-being for all members of our community.

  • Outstanding outcomes with a positive Progress 8 score and zero NEETS.

  • Students who exhibit excellent behaviour for learning and a desire to acquire knowledge and improve themselves.

  • A supportive, enthusiastic and inspiring team within which to grow and develop.

  • An opportunity to develop your craft of teaching across three Key Stages.

Curriculum, staffing and resources

The Philosophy and Ethics Department has gained significant recognition within the school for its exceptional contributions to both academic excellence and the character development of our students. We follow the Harrow Agreed Syllabus of Religious Education for KS3 and Key Stage 4 students study a Core Philosophy and Ethics curriculum. At KS4 we also provide students the opportunity to study the full course Eduqas GCSE and this has proved to be a popular option.  Students are provided with the opportunity to study Eduqas A Level, with Buddhism as the focus for Component 3: Study of a World Religion. With a high profile across the school, the department has consistently demonstrated its ability to engage students through dynamic and thought-provoking lessons that challenge their understanding of religion and world views through the lens of ethical issues. Recent achievements include exam results that exceeded the national average in the summer 2024 examinations. The Philosophy and Ethics Department continues to enrich students' learning experiences through trips that offer real-world insight into different religious practices and beliefs. Through our commitment to both academic rigor and holistic development, the Philosophy and Ethics Department continues to be a cornerstone of the school’s ethos and a driving force in shaping well-rounded, responsible young people.
