Post: Teacher of History / Humanities
Organisation: Kingstone High School
Applications Close: 9th
April 2026
Start date: 1st September 2026
Kingstone High School is looking for
an inspirational Teacher of History who is able to teach across the subject and
ability range at KS3 and KS4 for September 2026. The position has become available due to
staff relocation.
This is an excellent opportunity for a talented teacher who is eager for a positive and rewarding teaching post. You will be joining a Humanities Faculty of six staff within a supportive school staff team committed to promoting enjoyment and high achievement for all of our students. We encourage extra-curricular trips and activities that support the cultural growth of our students.
You should have the ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities and be dedicated to raising their attainment and possess the ability to plan and develop a curriculum that allows for innovative learning and teaching, regular assessment of student progress and enrichment opportunities outside of lessons.
We welcome applications from both ECTs and experienced colleagues who will be willing to contribute to the continuing development of the faculty (we provide a full mentoring programme for ECTs). Therefore, if you are an enthusiastic History teacher with an ability to inspire, enthuse and challenge students to succeed at all levels we would like to hear from you. There are excellent CPD opportunities to grow and develop through mentorship and coaching.
In addition to the main teaching role, there is an opportunity for candidates to apply for an additional responsibility as Head of Year (TLR2B), for which a full job description is provided. Applicants who wish to be considered for both the teaching position and the Head of Year role should include a clearly identified additional section within their letter of application outlining their suitability for this responsibility. Candidates shortlisted for both roles will undertake an extended interview process to assess their readiness for the Head of Year position. Applications are warmly welcomed from those who wish to be considered for the teaching role only, without the additional responsibility.
