We are seeking a dynamic, innovative and passionate teacher to join our Science faculty. The precise nature of the teaching load will be negotiated with the successful applicant but may include A Level.
At Verulam,
the Science department is focused on developing our students as strong
independent scientific thinkers. At
A level the faculty has over 50 high achieving students studying the sciences,
with many studying two or more. At GCSE the top sets study the AQA Separate
Science Course and the rest follow the AQA Combined Science Course. The department has eight dedicated science
labs and 4 prep rooms.
Verulam places great emphasis
on extra-curricular activity and engagement and benefits from outstanding attendance and exemplary
behaviour.
The school has good GCSE and A Level results and achieved an
above average Progress 8 score of +0.36 in 2023 for the whole school. It
was judged to be a Good school in all categories by Ofsted in May 2024.
Verulam School is a member of the Ambition Education Trust (AET).
The Ambition Education Trust (AET) consists of ten schools in Hertfordshire;
three primary, one nursery and infants’, one juniors and five secondary. Our
Trust launched in September 2024 following the amalgamation of two established
Multi Academy Trusts (MATs), Alban Academies Trust and ATLAS Multi Academy
