About this Role

JOB PURPOSE

·      Under the direction of the Senior Science Technician, to ensure the work of the Department runs effectively and efficiently at all times. 

·      Provide technical support for teaching staff within the Department.

·      Provide maintain and prepare resources and materials for teaching staff within the Department.

·      Maintain excellent standards of Health and Safety in relation to the technician service.

·      To support the ethos of the School by supporting the general purpose and well-being of the students where possible.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Technician who will work alongside our experienced Senior Technician providing support to our teaching team; together you will enable our students to thrive in our care. You will contribute to the day-to-day running of the Science team’s work inside and outside of the classroom preparing resources and materials for lessons and experiments. Our ideal candidate would also be keen on working directly with students to demonstrate science in action.

Like all staff members, you will promote high standards of behaviour for, and attitudes to, learning and will support students in their academic and personal needs. You will take a rigorous approach towards the commitment to protect and nurture students at Lode Heath School in keeping with agreed child protection, safeguarding, attendance and pastoral care policies.
