Longsands Academy is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of Physics to join our ambitious Science faculty from September. This is a full‑time, permanent position, paid on the Main Pay Scale (MPS).

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high‑quality Physics lessons that engage and challenge students
  • Teach across the age and ability range, adapting teaching to meet diverse learner needs
  • Use assessment effectively to monitor progress, inform teaching and support intervention
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, effort and achievement
  • Work collaboratively with Science colleagues to develop curriculum and share best practice
  • Contribute to the wider life of the academy, including enrichment opportunities
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents and colleagues to support positive outcomes

We are seeking a candidate who:

  • Is a qualified teacher (or ECT) with strong subject knowledge in Physics
  • Has a passion for science and the ability to inspire curiosity and enthusiasm
  • Holds high expectations and is committed to inclusive, high‑quality teaching
  • Is reflective, motivated and committed to professional development
  • Works effectively as part of a team and builds positive professional relationships
