The Role

As a Teacher of Art at Longsands Academy, you will play a pivotal role in nurturing creativity, confidence, and artistic expression in our students. You will design and deliver imaginative lessons that encourage students to explore a wide range of techniques, develop their practical skills, and think critically about visual culture. Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality lessons across Key Stages, fostering a love of Art and creativity.
  • Plan, prepare, and assess student work in line with curriculum requirements.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and encouraged.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the Art curriculum.
  • Support the wider life of the academy through enrichment activities, exhibitions, clubs, or events.
  • Work collaboratively as part of the Art department to share best practice and promote high standards.

  • Has strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Art.

  • Holds QTS (or is working towards it) and a desire to continually develop professionally.
