Longsands Academy is seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Teacher of Maths to join our forward‑thinking and supportive team from September. This is a full‑time, permanent post, paid on the Main Pay Scale (MPS).

The Role

As a Teacher of Maths at Longsands Academy, you will play a key role in delivering high‑quality teaching and learning that inspires students and enables them to achieve strong outcomes. You will be responsible for planning engaging lessons, using assessment effectively to support progress, and maintaining consistently high expectations of behaviour and achievement. Working closely with colleagues within the Maths department and across the academy, you will contribute to a collaborative culture that supports both staff development and student success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver well‑structured, engaging Maths lessons that meet the needs of all learners
  • Assess, track and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and appropriate intervention
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, effort and achievement
  • Contribute to collaborative planning and the sharing of best practice within the Maths department
  • Support the wider life of the academy, including enrichment and extracurricular activities as appropriate
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents and colleagues to support positive outcomes

  • Be a qualified teacher (or ECT) with strong subject knowledge in Maths
  • Have a commitment to delivering high‑quality teaching and learning
