About this Role

Exam Invigilator

Pattern of Work: The main exam periods are December, March and May/June.  Working mornings are from approximately 8.15am, and working afternoons from approximately 1pm.  Some exams do run beyond the end of the school day.  Invigilators need to be available for at least 5 half-days per week

Casual contract

Roundwood Park is a high achieving 11-18 school in Harpenden, Hertfordshire.  Our Ofsted Outstanding grade has recently been re-confirmed (December 2023) and we have been named Sunday Times Parent Power Comprehensive School of the Year for SE England for 2024.

We are looking to add to our busy and friendly Invigilator team.  Times are generally morning sessions from 8.15am; afternoon sessions usually finishing no later than 4pm.  Session scheduling is by mutual agreement, but invigilators are expected to work a minimum of five sessions per week during exam seasons.

Invigilators are required to be punctual, methodical and accurate, with clear and fluent spoken communication skills.    You should also be confident using a laptop or computer, including transferring files from memory sticks, and printing.  No previous experience is necessary; full training will be provided.

At Roundwood Park School, we continue to strive to build a diverse and inclusive workplace ensuring that our student body is represented in the staff and where everyone feels valued. Through our work in the last year with the Great Representation programme and the completion of the Anti-racist School Audit with HFL Education, we are actively committed to ensuring equity and inclusion is a continued priority throughout all things we do. It forms a major element of our school improvement plan in order that the work we do makes a sustained difference for all. We therefore strongly encourage applicants from all backgrounds, particularly those from underrepresented groups, and are committed to create an environment where everyone feels seen, heard and feels that they belong - a place where everyone can flourish.

Roundwood Park School is committed to safeguarding children and young people.  All post holders are subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check and other safeguarding checks.
