We pride
ourselves on the depth and quality of the pastoral care and support that we
provide for all of our students. Our
Student Support Officer for Key Stage 4 provides empathetic guidance and
mentoring for students (and families), focused on positive outcomes and
building self-reliance, in support of our Heads of Years 10 & 11. Excellent listening skills, but firmness
towards positive outcomes, are key requirements. Our Student Support Officers also have office
administration responsibilities.
Our OFSTED grading has been confirmed as Outstanding (November 2023)
and the inspection team have written that:
‘Staff say that
they are very well supported. Staff feel valued. They have high praise for how
leaders look after the staff’s well-being and their workload.’
‘A school of
exceptional quality.’
‘Pupils meet
leaders’ exceptionally high expectations for their work, personal development
and behaviour.’
‘A highly ambitious
curriculum is in place for all pupils. A broad and rich curriculum prepares
pupils exceptionally well.’

Anti-racist School Audit with HFL Education, we are actively committed to ensuring equity and
inclusion is a continued priority throughout all things we do. It forms a major
element of our school improvement plan in order that the work we do makes a
sustained difference for all. We therefore strongly encourage applicants from
all backgrounds, particularly those from underrepresented groups, and are
committed to create an environment where everyone feels seen, heard and feels
that they belong - a place where everyone can flourish.
