About this Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and inspiring Head of English to lead our vibrant department, including the delivery of Film Studies at Key Stage 5 from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate subject specialist who is committed to sharing a love of English and film with young people while driving high standards of teaching and learning across the faculty.  As Head of English, you will provide clear strategic leadership and line management for a team that includes two Key Stage Leads, Literacy and EAL Coordinator - fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement. We are looking for someone who can ignite curiosity, bring literature and film to life, and inspire students to engage deeply with the subject.  You will teach bright, motivated, and inquisitive students in a well-resourced environment that values innovation, enjoyment in learning, and academic success. You will join a friendly and supportive team where your ideas, leadership, and vision will play a key role in shaping the continued success of the department.
