About this Role

Beacon is our on-site Alternative Provision at St Peters CofE Academy which is designed to support students with significantly low academic ability, taught by a specialist SEN teacher who provides a more tailored approach to learning.

Our goal is to provide a nurturing and structured environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally, with the ultimate aim of reintegrating the students into the mainstream curriculum when appropriate.

The provision offers:

·                A personalised curriculum suited to the student's pace and learning style.

·                Small class sizes for more focused, one-on-one teaching.

Access to additional support in literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional development, which is embedded within the curriculum and delivered through interventions.

·                A structured, supportive setting that encourages engagement and confidence-building.

This post is 32.50 hours per week and is term time only.

We are looking for candidates with experience and enthusiasm who are able to communicate clearly with staff and students. Emphasis is placed on being highly motivated, enthusiastic to inspire with the ability to personalise strategies and interventions for each student individually.

The successful candidate will:

·       Have a good level of education

·       Be an excellent role model

·       Be able to build positive relationships with students.

·       Believe in a creative approach to learning

·       Hold high expectations for all students in terms of behaviour and achievement.

·       Be committed to working as part of a large team
