The role
The
Academy is looking to appoint an energetic and well-qualified Art graduate to
join a strong department in a highly academic school. The ideal candidate would be able to teach
across Key Stages 3 and 4, and teach KS5 either immediately or in the near
future and would be keen to work at the highest level of secondary school Art.
Successful applicants will be supported
through their ECT process (if appropriate) with a dedicated mentor, in-school
training and a supportive department to help them develop into a highly
effective practitioner.
The
candidate must be:
An inspirational teacher.
- Driven in their relentless pursuit
of the highest standards across the department.
- Highly organised and meticulous.
- Creative and imaginative.
All
students study Art & Design in KS3 with a balanced curriculum that develops
creativity, practical skills, and an understanding of artists, craftspeople and
designers from a range of cultures and traditions, while preparing students for
further academic study. GCSE Art & Design is a popular choice at KS4
following the Eduqas GCSE Art & Design specification. This wide-ranging
course develops key artistic skills and techniques before allowing students to
pursue their own creative interests through increasingly independent and
personal projects. The learning journey continues at KS5 with Eduqas A Level
Art, Craft & Design – a broad course which offers students the opportunity
to specialise in a range of Art, Craft & Design disciplines.
