About this Role

 Assistant Headteacher with Designated Safeguarding Lead Responsibility (Teaching)

Main Purpose of the role: 

To provide strategic and operational leadership for safeguarding and child protection across the Academy Trust, alongside a teaching commitment and wider whole-school leadership responsibilities. As a member of the Senior Leadership Group, the Assistant Headteacher will ensure safeguarding is fully compliant and embedded within the culture, curriculum and daily practice of the Academy. Additional leadership responsibilities will be determined in line with the skills, experience and expertise of the postholder.

Some responsibilities include:
  • Lead Safeguarding and child protection across the Academy
  • Manage safeguarding concern and referrals
  • Work in partnership with external safeguarding agencies
  • Lead safeguarding training and support staff development
