Teaching Assistant specialising in SEMH/Behaviour

To commence ASAP Permanent

Full-Time

Salary: Grade 5 £26,835 - £30,060 pro rata, £23,287 - £26,086 actual

37 hours per week, term time plus training days (39 weeks per year)

Mon Thurs 8.15am - 4.15pm and Fri 8.15am 3.45pm with a half hour unpaid break

 

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a highly efficient and organised person to become the Teaching Assistant specialising in SEMH/Behaviour for Shenley Brook End School. You will work as part of the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Team in supporting students with SEMH and/or Social Communication difficulties to access the curriculum in mainstream lessons in a group, or through one-to-one intervention sessions, outside of the classroom. You will work in collaboration with colleagues in the SEND Team as directed by the SENCO.

The ideal candidate will: -

·         Have previous experience of working with SEND students, particularly those with SEMH and Social Communication and Interaction (C&I) difficulties.

·         Have the ability to communicate effectively with young people.

·         Have experience of working within an education setting

·         Want to make a difference to the children in our care.
