We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic and inspiring Support for Learning Assistant to join the Learning Support Department at The Mirfield Free Grammar, part of Great Heights Academy Trust.

About the Role

Our Learning Support team works collaboratively with students, parents and staff across the school to ensure every young person benefits from an inclusive, nurturing and high‑quality learning environment.

As a Support for Learning Assistant, you will primarily support students with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), working with learners who have a range of additional needs including Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, ADHD and Autism.

You will play a vital role in:

  • Delivering student‑centred, flexible support tailored to individual needs
  • Implementing strategies and provisions that help students achieve meaningful academic and life outcomes
  • Providing in‑class support, small group work and bespoke interventions
  • Building positive, trusting relationships that enable students to flourish emotionally, socially and academically

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a dedicated, supportive team committed to inclusion and student success
  • Make a real and lasting impact on the lives of young people
  • Work within a school where our values are embedded in everything we do
  • Help nurture aspirations, confidence and independence in every learner

If you are caring, adaptable and enthusiastic about supporting children and young people to be the very best they can be, we would love to hear from you.

We look forward to receiving your application and welcoming you to our team.

Great Heights Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. Shortlisted candidates will be subject to related online content checks, in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education. All appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check as well as satisfactory references.

Great Heights Academy Trust strives to be an employer of choice. We are an inclusive and diverse multi academy trust and ultimately, our aim is to employ a workforce that reflects the communities it serves. We are committed to achieving a balanced workforce at all levels, whilst ensuring that no individual is disadvantaged or treated less favourably.
