We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our vibrant secondary school community. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in the day-to-day running of the school by providing high-quality classroom supervision in the absence of a teacher.
About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lessons and ensuring students remain focused, engaged, and on task. You will supervise whole classes across a range of subjects when teachers are absent due to short-term sickness, professional development, meetings, or time allocated for planning, preparation, and assessment.

Key Responsibilities:
Supervising students in the classroom during the absence of the regular teacher.
Ensuring a calm and purposeful learning environment.
Managing classroom behaviour effectively and in line with the school's policies.
Supporting students to complete the work set and helping with any queries where possible.
Providing feedback to teaching staff about the lesson and student behaviour.
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
Has a genuine interest in education and supporting young people.
Is confident, resilient, and able to manage classroom behaviour positively.
Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills.
Is flexible, reliable, and able to think on their feet.
Experience of working with children of the relevant age would be desirable.
· Numeracy and literacy skills equivalent to NVQ level 2 or GCSE C in Maths and English
· A Degree would be desirable
· An interest in teacher training would be desirable
· Understanding of the curricular requirements of the school, these to include statutory requirements
· Competence in the use of ICT to support teaching and learning
· Ability to work with a minimum of supervision and within a team
· Ability to manage students in a classroom setting
· Resilient problem solving and enthusiastic
