What you’ll be doing:
As Site Manager, you will take ownership of the school’s
estate, balancing leadership, organisation, and practical know-how:
- Lead
and support the site team to deliver outstanding standards across the
entire site
- Take
full responsibility for Health & Safety compliance, including
statutory checks, COSHH and ensuring a safe environment for all
- Oversee
both planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring issues are resolved
efficiently and effectively
- Manage
external contractors, building strong relationships and ensuring work
meets required standards
- Keep
essential systems (heating, lighting, alarms, emergency systems) running
reliably through regular inspections
- Play
a key role in site security, including participating in an out-of-hours
emergency rota
- Oversee
cleaning services, carrying out audits and maintaining excellent standards
across the site
- Support
school life by helping facilitate events, lettings, and community use of
the facilities
- Drive
cost-effective solutions and contribute to continuous improvement across
operations
- Champion
sustainability and environmentally responsible practices across the school
What we are looking for:
We are after someone who is practical, proactive, and
confident leading from the front:
- Proven
experience in site or facilities management across multiple buildings
(education sector experience is a plus)
- Strong
leadership skills, with the ability to manage a team and work
independently when needed
- Excellent
working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation (IOSH qualified or
willing to train)
- A
hands-on approach with solid DIY and maintenance skills
- Good
organisational and communication skills, with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable
using IT systems for reporting and compliance record-keeping
- Experience
with grounds maintenance and sports pitch upkeep is desirable
- Physically
capable of regular manual tasks such as moving equipment and setting up staging
for events
- Flexible,
adaptable, and ready to respond to the changing needs of a busy school
environment
