Overview of the job

At Challney, our science team enjoys a diverse range of talents covering multiple specialisms and plays host to some of the school’s strongest teachers.  The team has a robust tradition of distributing responsibilities and cultivating talent and has a consistent history of promoting from within when it comes to leadership opportunities.

The department is housed across our S corridor and our new SEA block.  Each classroom is equipped with a full laboratory with the complete range of experimental equipment available from the Science Technical Support team.

The school’s well-established science team have consistently secured excellent GCSE results over the last five years. We provide a strong culture of support and care for our staff.

The successful candidate will demonstrate real enthusiasm for teaching science and a willingness to work to make an already established department even stronger with full CPD and ECT support available.  By joining us at Challney High School for Boys you will be guaranteeing yourself a solid start to a long, happy and productive career as an outstanding practitioner of science teaching.

Purpose of the post
